American Smooth

American Smooth is a ballroom dance style that combines traditional ballroom techniques with the freedom of open choreography. It includes four main dances:

  • Waltz: Known for its graceful, flowing movements and romantic feel.
  • Tango: Characterized by sharp, staccato movements and dramatic flair.
  • Foxtrot: Smooth and sophisticated, with long, flowing movements.
  • Viennese Waltz: A faster-paced version of the Waltz with many steps for beginners and sweeping turns for the more advanced
  • Peabody: A graceful dance with elements of Quickstep
  • Polka: A lively dance with elements of Quickstep

American Smooth allows dancers to break away from the traditional closed hold, incorporating elements from other dance styles like jazz and contemporary, which adds a unique flair and artistic expression to the performances1.
